Welcome to Jain Oswal Boarding

Founded on 22nd June 1933 by Late Shri Kanhaiyalalji Bhandari Saheb of Indore, Shri Jain Oswal Boarding was established to provide Jain Oswal students with a safe and nurturing environment in Nashik to pursue education. At a time when opportunities for learning were scarce, this initiative opened doors for rural students to study in the city, laying the foundation for generations of success.

Journey of Growth

From its humble beginnings, the hostel has shaped thousands of lives. Alumni of this institution have gone on to become entrepreneurs, doctors, engineers, chartered accountants, senior officers, and social leaders. For over 92 years, the boarding has focused on student welfare—offering not just food and shelter, but also character-building and moral values in a family-like setting.

Renovation & Modern Infrastructure

Shri Jain Oswal Boarding has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past decade, blending its historic legacy with the needs of today’s students. The old hostel buildings have been systematically renovated—rooms repainted, furniture such as cupboards, beds, and tables repaired with new plywood & sunmika sheets, and common areas upgraded to meet modern standards.

A new six-storey hostel building now stands as the pride of the institution. The second, third, and fourth floors house 117 boys, while the fifth and sixth floors accommodate 78 girls, with separate stairways and elevators to ensure privacy and security. Each room is designed for comfort and learning, with abundant natural light, ventilation, and attached bathrooms. Every student is provided with individual cupboards, study space, and modern lighting and fans. The campus also features:

  • Spacious study halls and dedicated libraries for boys and girls
  • Conference and meeting rooms for academic, cultural, and community events
  • A 150 KW Diesel Generator ensuring uninterrupted power supply
  • Solar panels and heat pumps for year-round hot water in both new and old hostels
  • Green gym facilities installed in both hostels, promoting fitness and well-being
  • Indoor-games Chess, Carom, outdoor-Volleyball & Badminton court

This infrastructure ensures that students enjoy facilities comparable to premier hostels across India while still retaining the warmth of a community environment.

Quality Living

The institution has always believed that a healthy body nurtures a healthy mind. Great emphasis is placed on food quality, hygiene, and balanced nutrition. Separate dining halls for boys and girls are equipped with modern dining tables, stainless steel serving counters, and a Bain Marie system to ensure freshly served hot meals.

Meals are thoughtfully planned to suit student schedules, including breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and milk at night. For students leaving early for college or classes, special tiffin services are arranged. The food committee—comprising trustees, staff, and students—monitors quality closely so that meals are both nourishing and home-like. Living arrangements are designed to create a family-like environment. With round-the-clock care, well-maintained hostels, and student mess committees actively involved, students feel a sense of belonging that supports both academic and personal growth.

Student Admissions

Admissions are strictly merit-based, ensuring that only deserving students gain entry. With the addition of the new hostel building, the institution has significantly increased its intake capacity. Thanks to community donors, financial assistance and subsidized accommodation are provided to students from economically weaker backgrounds under schemes like the Anand Nivas Yojana. This balance of merit and support ensures that no deserving student is left behind.

Commitment to Girls’ Education

Understanding the challenges faced by parents in sending their daughters to cities for higher studies, the institution took a historic step by constructing a dedicated girls’ hostel with modern facilities and strict safety measures. The building provides secure accommodation, attached washrooms, ample light and ventilation, and separate libraries and study halls. Beyond academics, the hostel emphasizes life skills and personality development. Regular yoga sessions, fitness programs, and skill-building workshops such as cooking and homemaking classes are organized, preparing young women to become independent, confident, and capable individuals. This commitment reflects the institution’s belief that educating girls uplifts not just families, but the entire community.

Future Vision

While proud of its glorious 92-year journey, Shri Jain Oswal Boarding is firmly focused on the future. The management is working on ambitious plans to expand opportunities for students, including:

  • Developing a state-of-the-art digital library in the basement to provide 24/7 access to e-books, journals, and online resources.
  • Constructing a new seven-storey tower at the site of the old boys’ hostel to accommodate the increasing number of admissions.
  • Launching skill-development initiatives for students, including modern career workshops, personality development programs, and competitive exam support.
  • Expanding beyond Nashik with plans to open new branches in cities like Pune and Mumbai, ensuring students from across Maharashtra have access to safe, quality boarding facilities.
  • Enhancing sustainability by introducing green energy solutions, rainwater harvesting, and eco-friendly practices across the campus.

The vision is not just to provide accommodation, but to create an ecosystem where students are nurtured into responsible citizens and future leaders. By combining academic excellence with holistic growth, the institution aims to carry forward its legacy for the next 100 years.
